I did a refresh on our dining room last summer after selling all the existing furniture (on a whim) on marketplace. I listed it to see if I might get any bites and it all sold within a couple hours. I always wanted a moody dining room that had a speak easy feel and would make for nice, intimate dinners we host with family and friends. As with most projects around here, there were a few finishing details that needed to be done.
I’m on a mission this season to tackle that last 5-10% of the projects around the house. It is so rewarding to actually be able to consider a project done, rather than having those last to-dos lingering over your head.
For the dining room, there aren’t too many things left but the last details are going to make the biggest difference. I wasn’t sure about adding an area rug to the space at first. Since the walls are black and our new round table is black, once I added a rug it made SUCH a difference. It helps to break up the space and really highlights the lines of the table. I love it SO much.
Revival has been my go-to for beautiful, one of a kind, top notch quality area rugs. Not only do they have a huge selection of vintage rugs, but they also have their own line of stunning options — including machine washable area rugs! Until May 26, 2023 you can use code 10OFF-LIANNECAREY to save on all Revival rugs.
I opted to go with this vintage Turkish option for the space. I always love to mix old and new. Since the dining room has a lot of new furniture, adding vintage accessories helps to pull it together and make the design feel timeless. The vintage Turkish rugs are low pile, making them an excellent option for a dining area. The light tones of the rug really help to highlight the unique lines of our dining table and I’m so happy I opted for this one.
While the vintage rugs are one of a kind, Revival has such a wonderful selection so I’ve pulled together a few of my favorites that are quite similar below.
Next up on the to dos for this space:
- Touch up paint
- Swap curtains
- Add some more art
- Style inside of the hutch to be beautiful + functional for hosting
Let me know what you think of the new rug + space over on Instagram and bookmark this post for area rug inspiration in the future.
Until next time,
Lianne
