Hi, I'm Lianne

Do you make your bed everyday? I’d like to say I am one of those people, but usually I’m running around getting three kids ready for school and by the time I get back to my room it’s about time for bed. It’s amazing how nice it feels when you actually take the time to put it all back together, though. And there’s nothing quite like getting into a made bed after a long day.

Admittedly, our primary bedroom is one of those spaces that too often gets neglected. We have had mostly hand-me-down bedroom furniture for the last ten years, and our bedding, until recently, has left something to be desired. If you’ve been following along for some time, you may remember the refresh I did in our space last year. You can see some before and afters here. While the paint transformed the space, we definitely needed an upgrade to our bedding.

The key to the coziest, most inviting bed: layers. Some like to pile on the throw pillows, but I’m here to say that having some layered blankets makes for the coziest bed that will make it even more difficult to get out of on those cold winter mornings. I heir on the side of simplistic style, especially in the bedroom. I like clean lines, and minimal accessories on the bed — less to put together each day.

I cannot say enough about the Shavel Home Products MicroFlannel Sheets. These sheets give you the softness and comfort of fleece but still allow the movement that you want without making you too warm. Total win over here and my husband is super picky about bedding.

I love how the combination of the Sherpa MicroFlannel blanket and Quilted MicroFlannel Blanket add just the right amount of contrast and texture to keep the bed interesting. I chose neutral colors that can mix and match with whichever direction our bedroom takes over the years. While these blankets are both so soft and comfortable, I see them transitioning into spring perfectly.

Overall, we are so happy with our new bedding from Shavel Home Products and I’m looking forward to making some more small updates in our room over the years. Next on the list might be switching out my grandparent’s dressers.

Love where you live,

Lianne
