Hi, I'm Lianne

Let’s be honest, Halloween is just the driving force, the warm up, let’s say, to get us through fall and onto Christmas. Before becoming a mom, we never did much for Halloween. But, adding a little bit of cute spookiness throughout the house makes the kids happy. After all, that’s what matters most.

When decorating for Halloween, I choose two main spots to go all out and leave the rest of the house pretty much status-quo. I think it’s easier to make a statement in a couple of spaces, rather than needing to pack up a ton of decor from all over the house. Which type of Halloween decorator are you?

I always go for our family room and our front porch and then scatter mini pumpkins in other spots. The pumpkins get used up at our annual neighborhood pumpkin-carving party and then come November 1, we swap out to Christmas. I said it! We always used to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas but I think the season deserves a few more weeks of preparation so when the time is here, we can actually enjoy it.
